6 Comments before Super League

 

Preseason press conference of Super League 2012-2013 was held at Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. Managers of Super League and representatives of participant teams met journalists.

11 teams will compete in the upcoming season which starts tomorrow: “Armia”, “Kutaisi”, “Olimpi”, “MIA Academy”, “Sokhumi”, “Dinamo”, TSU, Samedicino, GTU, “Rustavi”, and “Batumi-RSU”. Tbilisi and Kutaisi Sports Palaces, Batumi basketball gym and Rustavi chemists’ gym will host the games. Tbilisi games will be held on Saturdays and regionals – on Fridays. According to the information of Basketball Federation, the first round will be an exception where Kutaisi and Samedicino will play on Sunday.

One pleasant news is worth mentioning – detailed statistic reports will be placed on website of Super League (www.superleague.ge). Here are the comments of coaches who attended the press conference:

Kote Tugushi (head coach of “Armia”): “Unfortunately, this year we have less legionaries but we added a lot of Georgian basketball players. Of course, we are in an optimistic mood. We will hold very tense games. I am sure, equal competition will be among several leader teams”.

Giorgos Ketselidis (head coach of MIA): “I congratulate on starting a new season. I am sure this season will be tougher than the previous season. Our team is mobilized and we will do our best to hold each game on high level”.

Irakli Khoshtaria (head coach of “Dinamo”): “We are waiting for a new season. I think we do not have weaker team than last year. We are planning to strengthen the team this season”.

Gia Kazanjian (head coach of “Olimpi”): “We will have less legionaries but we will have better team this year. The competition will be raised and I hope basketball level as well”.

Gia Tetelashvili (head coach of GTU): “It is difficult to say because of our finances. We will do our best against any favorite. We are not strengthened this year. We make accent on students and youngsters”.

Mikheil Beruashvili (head coach of “Rustavi”): “Three-four clubs will fight for the title. Goal of our team is to get in playoff. The Rustavi club has strengthened”.
