7 Georgians among Leaders

 

 

World Youth Championship has started in the city of Slovenia, Maribor. Participants of this tournament are U-8 to U-18 and they play in six weight categories. There are 18 Georgian chess players among them.
After two rounds, there are 7 Georgians among leaders with maximum points: Diana Lomaia(U-8), Noe Tutisani (1978,14), Anna Shamatava (2072,1) and Irakli Beradze (2327, 16).

Only Meri Arabidze (2391) is No.1 seed in age categories from Georgians, she is considered as favorite in U-18 championship. She has 1.5 points and according to the additional points she is in the 15th place. World championship consists of 11 rounds and ends on November 18. Day off is on November 13.
