Georgian chess players are still outsiders at international tournament which is underway in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan. After 7 rounds Shota Azaladze (2471) and Davit Benidze (2524) have 2.5-2.5 points. According to the additional data, they are in the 7th and 9th place. 10 chess players are participating in the tournament.
It is worth mentioning that the Georgian chess players have one-one win. They defeated outsider Stepan Zilka (2529) who is in the last place with 2.0 points.
Nine rounds will be held at the Yerevan tournament and it will end up on January 15. Prize money is 2 500 USD. In the 8th round the Georgians will play against Armenians with black pieces. Benidze will play against Karen Grigoryan (2513) and Azaladze – against Hovhannes Gabuzyan (2525).
