“Armia” champion of Georgia started Eurochallenge with failure. Kote Tugushi’s players played against ‘Hapoel” Holon in Israel and lost without any chance- 69:84. Unfortunately, Georgian club did not advance even once and lost the first time with 9-point difference, which defined the final result of the match. In spite of a strong support by Georgians who live in Israel, the opponent club was better in every component in comparison with “Armia”, which was a little unexpected.
American centre gained 22 points and 14 rebounds, in total “Hapoel” defeated “Armia” in rebounds 43:36, from three-second zone “Hapoel” scored 50 (!) points.
Americans were distinguished among the staff of Georgian club. Curtis Millage gained 20 points and 9 assists and was close to scoring double-double, Lamayn Wilson scored 5 three-point kicks from 12 and 15 points and 8 rebounds.
By the way, all the eleven players of Tugushi played in this match, only Eliav Moshiashvili did not play.
“Armia’ has the second match in Tbilisi, at Tbilisi Sports Palace. On November 13, champion of Georgia hosts “Antverpen” of Belgium, which lost in the first round with “Telecom” of Germany 72:81, as for German club, they will host “Hapoel” on November 14.
