Georgian delegation succeeded at World Sambo championship, which was underway in the capital of Belarus, Minsk. On the first day of the tournament, representatives of three weight categories wrestled and Georgians gained 2 gold medals. Giorgi Baindurovi (former Baindurashvili) gained gold medal,Nukri Berulava won bronze medal.
Unfortunately there is again very few information at Sambo web-site and how Georgian passed the tournament draw it is unknown. We only know that in the final of the tournament (90kg), Baindurov beat Eduard Kurginyan. As for Berulava, he succeeded in 52kgweight category, in the final of this weight category Russian Igor Beglerov beat Belarusian Andrey Kurlipo. Today prize winners were found out in 8 kg weight category, where Levan Nakhutsrishili represented Georgia but did not succeed. In the decisive fight of this weight category Denis Davidov beat Belorusian Dmitry Bazilev.

On Saturday, prize winners will be found out in three weight categories. Ushangi Kuzanashvili (57kg),Besarion Berulava (74kg) and Levan Zhorzholiani (100kg) will wrestle, on Sunday Levan Kochiev (2kg),Niko Kutsia (82kg) and Nodar Metreveli (+100 kg) will wrestle.
