We all know how much support of fans mean in rugby and other sports. It is merit of the fans that “The Lelos” has not lost official match in Georgia since 2004. The last time they lost to “Barbarians” in 2006.

We must remember that as a result of the fans, our team made heroism and defeated the USA in 2010. The Georgians saved almost lost match – they equalized the score with the try of Lekso Gugava and won 19:17 with conversion. Even if not these examples, our boys deserve to play in front of crowded tribunes on November 17 and 24 on “Mikheil Meskhi”.

The Vake stadium contains 27227 spectators. Ticket price is 5 and 10 GEL. We, fans of Georgian rugby, must show warm and love to the boys with crowding the tribunes. We do not doubt that the boys will do their best.

The Georgian rugby players made comments after yesterday’s practice.

Irakli Abuseridze: “Preparation is going on well. We will hold a tough match. Japan has a very strong team. I am happy to play against such strong team. It will be a good experience for our team. We will do our best to make fans happy”.

Davit Zirakashvili: “It can be said that Georgian team will hold historic matches. We would have been denied to hold such test matches before. Nowadays, the Georgian team is considered as worthy opponent. As for our opponent Japan, we have watched its play at World Cup. It is a very fast team and has a chance to play against such great teams like France. We know Japan has a very weak scrum and we will make accent on it. We must be ready for the last 20 minutes because Japan is the most dangerous in this period.

Playing against Russia was always important for Georgia and Georgian rugby. I remember the Georgian rugby did not have such fans 10 years ago. I am happy that many people attend even our practice. We rely on our fans. Their support is very important. I hope the stadium will be crowded on Saturday. I can say that it will be one of the best matches we have ever held”.

Davit Kacharava: “A lot time is left till World Cup but we have to hold two important matches. Japan and Fiji are high level teams. In 2006 when we held away match against Japan, we lost and now we will try to take revenge”.
