Debut, 11 Points of Shengelia and Victory in Boston

 

This morning, 17-time NBA champion “Boston Celtics” held preseason game against “Brooklyn Nets” at TD GARDEN. Avery Johnson, head coach of “Brooklyn Nets”, let the main lineup (Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Brook Lopez) rest and substitutes show themselves. Doc Rivers had three leaders of the team (Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett) in the lineup.

Thanks to good play of Andray Blatche and Mirza Teletovic, “Brooklyn” won the first quarter with 4 points – 25:21.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Tornike Shengelia received 2 personal fouls but Avery Johnson trusted and let him go on playing. Tornike scored the first 2 points in his NBA career.

As a result of good play of Jeff Green, “Boston” managed to win the first half – 49:47.

In the third quarter Brandon Bass scored a lot of points and his team won 34:27.

3 minutes and 43 seconds before the end of the last quarter, the hosts were winning with 10 points but Mirza Teletovic and Tornike Shengelia did their best.

First, Teletovic minimized the score with his 3 points. 40 seconds before the end of the game, “Toko” scored points – 95:95. Shengelia used bonus penalty and advanced his team with one point.

“Boston” had several chances to save the game but the guests managed to keep the score and finally, won the game – 97:96.

The Georgian forward played for 25 minutes and 46 seconds. He earned 11 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block-shot.

Captain Paul Pierce was the best from the hosts. He earned 29 points and 5 assists.
