“Maccabi” of Giorgi Shermadini lost the first two games at tournament which is under way in the city of Germany, Nuremberg. In the last game the Jewish team defeated “Olympiacos” Piraeus 92:74. The Georgian basketball player became the best player of the game with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The center of the Georgian team was not in lineup. It is worth mentioning that “Maccabi” was winning only one point before the fourth quarter. In the last quarter the Jewish team played perfectly.

Like Shermadini, Landesberg earned 14 points. Logan gained 15 points. Hickman scored 19 points. Lior Eliyahu, one of the best basketball players of “Maccabi”, did not participate in the game.

After Germany, the team of Shermadini will depart for France and will compete in another tournament with host “Paris-Levalua”, Belgian “Belgacom Spirou” and Turkish “Galatasaray”.

In semifinal, “Maccabi” will play against “Paris-Levalua” and the Belgians - against “Galatasaray”. Winners will play in final. On October 1 “Maccabi” will return to its homeland.

Before Israeli Championship, champion of Israel will participate in Euroleague. On October 11 “Maccabi” will hold the first game against Spanish “Unicaja”. Besides these two teams, “Montepaschi” of Viktor Sanikidze, German “Alba”, Polish “Prokom” and French “Shalon” will play in Group B of Euroleague.
