Euro 2020, Chance of Georgia in 13 Countries

At the meeting of executive committee of UEFA, which was held in the city of Switzerland, Nyon was decided that 2020 championship matches will be held in 13 different countries.  24 national teams of the continent will participate in this tournament, 12 stadiums will host group, 1/8final and 1/4final matches. Both of semi-final and final matches will be held in one stadium.  

According to UEFA decision, the stadium which host group and 1/8final matches, which is for 50 000 spectators. The stadium which hosts 1/4final match must be for 60 000 spectators and as for the stadium which is desired to host semi-final and the final of championship it must be for 70 000 spectators. Exception are two 2 stadiums, the stadiums which are for 30 000 spectators will group stage and 1/8 final matches.

All UEFA member countries will participate in qualifying round, there will be 4 groups with 6 national teams. National teams of host countries of the tournament will hold 2 matches in their own stadiums.

The cities which are desired to host European championship 2020 will fill in applications in April, in September the executive committee of UEFA will name 13 organizer cities.

 Supposedly, Istanbul will be the main candidates of hosting semi-final and final matches, Georgian football federation also will apply UEFA if the Istanbul will not be named as host city. “Dinamo Arena” named after Boris Paichadze is for 55 spectators.
