Georgian national free-style wrestling team left for Russia. On October 19-21 in the city of Russia, Khasaviurt, will be held Intercontinental Cup and there Georgian team will be represented with 7-man team. In the past, Dagestan tournament used to be held with team principal. This time, organizers changed format of the tournament and champions and prize-winners will be found out in individual championship.
Davit Khurtsia assistant of manager of Georgian national team will not represent any sportsman in 55 kg weight category. Vladimer Khinchegashvili leader of this weight category, will wrestle at Intercontinental Cup as well as at other tournaments in 60kg weight category. Finalist of Olympic Games was talking about changing weight category even leaving for London and made a final decision.
Davit Bedzenishvili and Malkhaz Kurdiani will represent Georgia in 66 kg weight category, Davit Khutsishvili and Iakob Makarashvili in -74kg, Elizbar Odikadze- 96 kg, Giorgi Sakandelidze- 120 kg. According to the preliminary information, Davit Marsagishvili (84kg) had to leave for Dagestan tournament, but due to a little injury gained at the training he changed his mind.
After ending Intercontinental Cup, Georgian national free-style wrestling team will compete at Moscow Nations Cup on November 9-11. Season ends with Georgian championship.
