“I was surprised by our play against “Aalborg” of Denmark. We had only three weeks for the preparation. 12 football players left the team and 9 new ones came. The fact is that we distinguished ourselves well” – stated Giorgi Devdariani in conversation with Croatian jutarnji.

“Dila” Gori will face “Hajduk” on “Poljud” on Thursday. The match will start at 23:00 Tbilisi time.

Devdariani praised “Hajduk” and stated it is a strong team.

Giorgi Devdariani: I know Igor Tudor was a good player. He played for “Juventus” and “Hajduk” is the first club in his coaching career. We are preparing well but the field is not on good form.

- How do you estimate your chances?

- 50:50. I do not know who is a favorite but it is good to play home.

- What do you expect from the Split match where “Hajduk” will have a great support from fans?

- It is good to play in front of crowded tribunes. It must be a good match and hopefully, we will receive positive result in the first match.

- What does positive result mean? Scoring goal away?

- The match will show what the positive result will be. I will be happy in case of victory.

- “Hajduk” is a great team and it has great traditions. Its players are self-confident because they have a lot of fans. The club has many titles. We cannot ignore it. Unlike us, “Hajduk” achieved success in Europe. I cannot say that I know nowadays “Hajduk” well but the club with such history deserves respect.

…It is a pity that Irakli Modebadze has injury. Giorgi Devdariani told “World Sport” that the preparation period is going on well. Leading forward is not able to practice: “He is a great strength for us and of course, he is a great loss”.
