A big international chess tournament has started in Gibraltar. The tournament is divided into several categories. Nana Dzagnidze, leader of Georgian team, and international grandmaster Salome Melia are participating in the tournament. Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant is competing in the name of Scotland. 245 chess players from 51 countries are participating in 2013 Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival (160 000 GBP). Vassily Ivanchuk has the highest ranking – 2758. Nana Dzagnidze is the 29th – 2555. In the first round all three Georgians won. Dzagnidze defeated Francois Weber, Melia – Antoine Canonne, Arakhamia – Escudero Baeza.
