Izoria Returned to Chess

 

Several chess tournaments were held in USA. Georgian chess players participated in them. Zviad Izoria (2610), one of the best chess players of Georgia, returned to chess and showed up in New York.

Izoria competed in Empire City Open 2012 and earned 4.5 points in six rounds. Other three chess players had the same points but the Georgian took the second place. Alexander Fishbein of America (2546) took the first place with 5.0 points.

Giorgi Kacheishvili (2602), Tamaz Gelashvili (2566) and Mikheil Kekelidze (2491) participated in North American Open 2012 in the USA. Kacheishvili showed the best result from the Georgians. He took the 8th place with 6.0 points. Gelashvili and Kekelidze earned 5.5-5.5 points and shared the 15th-16th place.
