Today Shota Javakhadze wrestled at Grand Prix which is under way in Abu Dhabi. He lost the second round. The Georgian judoka (81kg) did not wrestle in the first round. He started participation from 1/8 final and lost to Victor Penalber of Brazil. Penalber defeated the Georgian in 2 minutes and 11 seconds.

Judokas of 73kg also wrestled today. But Georgians did not wrestle in it.

Champions and prize winners of other three weight classes will be found out tomorrow. Zviad Gogochuri and Varlam Liparteliani will wrestle in the name of Georgia. Traditionally, Gogochuri will wrestle in 90kg. He will start participation from 1/8 final. Ricardo Louro of Portugal will be his opponent. In case of victory, the Georgian will wrestle against winner between Guillame Perrault of Canada and Marcel Ndjiki of Cameroon. This time Varlam Liparteliani will wrestle in 100kg. He will start competition from ¼ final but his opponent will be world No.2 Sergei Samoilovich of Russia.

The Georgian team arrived in Abu Dhabi with five sportsmen. The main staff of the team is preparing for World Team Championship which will take place in Brazil on October 27-28.
