European Chess Club Cup has started in the city of Israel, Eilat. 35 clubs are participating in it. But unfortunately, there are no Georgian clubs among them.

As we have already written, only Nana Dzagnidze (2555), leader of Georgian team, had to play in Israel from the Georgians. But at the last moment, Armenian “MIKA” substituted her with Lela Javakhishvili (2444).

In the first round No.3 seed Armenian club played against Jewish “Rishon LeZion” and won 3:1. 2 games ended up draw. Javakhishvili and Lilit Mkrtchian (2456) won their games. The Georgian chess player defeated Michal Lahav of Israel (1732).

Seven rounds will be held and the tournament will end up on October 17. 60 000 EUR is prize money. Champion of men’s tournament will gain 16 000 EUR and the best woman chess player will earn 4 500 EUR.

There are individual prizes too. Prize money is distributed this way. Men: I board – 900, 750, 500; II – 750, 600, 400; III – 650, 500, 350; IV – 600, 450, 300; V – 550, 400, 250; VI – 500, 350, 200; women: I – 400, 200, 100; II – 250, 200, 100; III – 200, 150, 100; IV – 100, 100, 100;
