Today the 22-year-old Oksana Kalashnikova and Slovak Japan Cepelova defeated the American-German duet (Falcon-Maria) 4:6, 6:1, 6:1 in the first round of Wimbledon doubles draw.
It is worth mentioning that the match lasted one hour and 23 minutes. The Georgian-Slovak tandem won 6 from 9 opponents’ serve. Overall they won 20 more points than the American and the German tennis players – 83:63.
In the second round Kalashnikova and Celepova will face either No.2 seed Czech (Hlavackova-Hradecka) or Russian-Australian duets (Kudryavtseva-Rodionova).
Kalashnikova and Cepelova earned 160 points. In case of another victory, they will earn 280 points.
Oksana has 1314 points and is in the 73rd place on WTA doubles ranking. It is her highest ranking.
