Two Georgian chess players will play in the second round of World women championship which is underway in the city of Russian, Khanty-Mansiysk. Nino Khurtsidze (2428) joined Lela Javakhishvili (2455), who needed to hold 6 matches for beating Russain Anastasya Bodnaruk (2415).
As far as you know, that opponents celebrated victories in classical chess matches, todat they played two 25-minute matches, which ended in a draw, in 10-minute matches, after playing draw with white pieces, Javakhishvili won with black pieces and in total she won 3.5:2.5.
Sophiko Khukhashvili (2383), who also played draw with Armenian Elina Danielyan (2476), after winning in the first 25-minute victory with black pieces, lost pitifully. Unfortuinately, Khukhashvili lost with white pieces, then she lost both 10-minute matches and lost 2:4.
Bela Khotenashvili (2504) who has the highest ranking among Georgians sensationally lost qith Aribas Robaina (2273) of Cuba. She was considered as favorite in this match, advancved 1:0, but then she lost superiority. Her opponent managed to restore balance in classical matches too, at tie-break she lost 1.5:0.5 and unexpectadly showed the following result- 2.5:1.5.
There are left 32 players at World championship, who hold the second round matches on November 14-15, in case of need, for tie-break is setteled November 16.
