In London, at free-style wrestling tournament in 60 kg Malkhaz Zarkua started competition and held the first fight against Ukrainian Vasil Fedorishin prize winner of World and European championship. In the first period Zarkua was very active and won 1:0. In the second period Georgian wrestler gained the first point and finally convincingly won 3:0.

Zarkua wrestled against American Collemand Scott in ¼ final, but could not beat him. American won and went through the 1/2final, where he lost with Torgul Asgarov of Azerbaijan. Failure of American sportsman left Zarkua beyond the repechage and chance of medal.
