Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs named Olympic champion, judoka Lasha Shavdatuashvili as the best sportsman of Georgia in 2012. Winners of five nominations were found out at the ceremony at “Event Hall” of Tbilisi Concert Hall.

Rewards were distributed this way:

The best young sportsman: Amiran Ianvarashvili (sambo)

The best team: U-17 football team

The best sports federation: Rugby Union

The best coach Nikoloz Bibilashvili (coach of Lasha Shavdatuashvili)
