Only Lela Javakhishvili (2455) will play in 1/8 final of Women’s World Championship from Georgians. It became known when Nino Khurtsidze (2428) lost to Xue Zhao of China (2565) on tie-break.
In the second round Javakhishvili won over world No.7 Kateryna Lahno of Ukraine (2553) 1.5:0.5. As for Khurtsidze, she played draw with Zhao 1:1 in classic games, lost 0.5:1.5 in 25-minute games and finally, lost 1.5:2.5.
In 1/8 final Dronavalli Harika of India (2512) will be opponent of Javakhishvili. The Indian beat Elina Danielian (2476) – 1.5:0.5. In the first round the Armenian defeated Sophiko Khukhashvili (2383).
Besides that, the following chess players will play in 1/8 final: Socko (Poland) – Stefanova (Bulgaria), Zhukova (Ukraine) – Zhu (China), Ushenina (Ukraine) – Pogonina (Russia), Xue (China) – M. Muzychuk (Ukraine), N. Kosintseva – T. Kosintseva (Russia), Huang (China) – Krush (USA), Sebag (France) – Galliamova (Russia).
The third round games will be held on November 17 and 18. If it is necessary, tie-breaks will be held on November 19.
