P.J. Carlesimo, acting head coach of “Brooklyn Nets”, established a good relationship with his basketball players. He lets all players show themselves and feel how important they are to the team. Unlike “Nets” of Avery Johnson, current team plays more team basketball and uses substitutes more effectively. It is a formula of success of “Brooklyn”. The team defeated “Sacramento Kings” with 20-point difference and celebrated the 19th victory in the championship.
In the first quarter the both teams attacked. As a result of it, 67 points were scored in 12 minutes. But the hosts had 5-point advantage – 36:31.
In the second quarter P.J. Carlesimo gave instructions to his team and “Nets” improved playing in defense. Before the big break, “Nets” had 18-point handicap.
At the beginning of the second half, the basketball players of “Nets” tried to overcome their opponent but in vain. Substitutes Andray Blatche, Mirza Teletovic and MarShon Brooks played a key role in “Nets”. Finally, “Brooklyn” won 113:93.
Tornike Shengelia, Georgian forward of “Nets”, played for 4:47 minutes at the end of the fourth quarter. He earned 2 points (2-2 free throws) and 1 rebound.
DeMarcus Cousins was the best from the guests. He made double-double, earned 28 points and 11 rebounds. Deron Williams (“Brooklyn”) held another good game. He earned 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
After today’s success “Nets” is in the sixth place with 19 wins and 15 losses in Eastern Conference. “Sacramento” is in the 13th place with 13 wins and 21 losses.
“Atlanta” lost to “Boston Celtics” 81:89.
Larry Drew almost did not let Georgian center Zaza Pachulia show himself. Pachulia played for 13:37 minutes. He earned 2 points and 2 rebounds.
The game started with advantage of the hosts. “Hawks” won the first half 53:38. But in the third quarter “Atlanta” felt asleep and scored 9 points in 12 minutes. “Boston Celtics” scored 33 points and finally, won the game 89:81.
