Davit Khakhaleishvili, acting president of Georgian Judo Federation, made official statement on scandal in Georgian judo. The Olympic champion who will participate in presidential elections on November 26 sent letter to “World Sport”.
 

Dear readers, I want to make comment on incident which occurred in central gym of Judo Academy. While I was visiting the USA, two sportsmen dressed in non-sport uniform and one stranger entered the gym when Georgian judo team was practicing there. They made provocations against coaches. Fortunately, the practice was held.

I want to declare that this fact is the last relapse of the ugliest events that have occurred at Judo Federation in the recent years. Georgian people deserve to be proud of that great phenomenon which is called Georgian judo. There must be news for justice, bravery, generosity and reliability. Georgian judo must bring happiness to our nation!
