The Georgian freestyle wrestling team won 3 medals at Intercontinental Cup which was held in Khasavyurt on October 20-21. The Georgian team wrestled with renewed staff. Davit Khurtsia, head coach assistant of the team, took 8 sportsmen to Khasavyurt. Giorgi Sakandelidze (120kg) showed the best result from them.

The Georgian heavyweighter won four international tournaments in one month and half. This time Sakandelidze defeated three opponents without losing even one period. In final he beat host Magomed Nurasulov 1:0, 4:0.

Beka Lomtadze (60kg) and Elizbar Odikadze (96kg) needed one victory for gold medal. Both of them won silver medal. Vladimer Khinchegashvili (60kg), Malkhaz Kurdiani, Davit Berdzenishvili (both 66kg), Davit Khutsishvili and Iakob Makarashvili (both 74kg) were left beyond top 3.

The Georgian freestyle wrestling team will compete in another tournament – in Moscow Cup on November 9-11. The Georgian Championship will end up the season in November.
