Andranik Margaryan memorial is going on unsuccessfully for Georgian chess players. The tournament is held in Yerevan. After 5 rounds Davit Benidze (2524) is in the 6th place with 2.5 points. Shota Azaladze (2471) is in the 8th place with 2.0 points.
In the previous round Benidze lost to Martyn Kravtsiv of Ukraine (2593) with white pieces. The Ukrainian earned 4.0 points and kept the first place. As for Azaladze, he played draw with Alexey Goganov of Russia (2545).
In the 6th round the Georgian chess players will play with black pieces. Benidze will play against Goganov and Azaladze – against Andrey Barishpolets of Ukraine (2502).
The memorial will end up on January 15. Prize money is 2 500 USD.
