Young Georgians will Wrestle at Nations' Cup

 

Today European Nations’ Cup has started in Moscow and it will end on November 11. The first day is for women. Tomorrow Greco-Romans and freestyle wrestlers will start participation.

According to the regulations, the teams which got in Top 6 of European Team Championship are participating in Nations’ Cup. Only freestyle wrestling team represents Georgia. The team took the second place at European Championship. Greco-Romans took the 9th place.

It is an Olympic year and the year is coming to an end. Georgian head coaches did not take titled wrestlers to Russia. The following sportsmen will wrestle in Moscow: Tristan Chirgadze (55kg), Beka Lomtadze (60kg), Konstantine Khabalashvili (66kg), Jumber Kvelashvili (74kg), Tornike Svanidze (84kg), Giorgi Meshvildishvili (96kg) and Geno Petriashvili (120kg).

Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine and Belarus are also competing in the tournament. These six teams are distributed to two subgroups. The first-placed teams of the group will wrestle in final on November 11. Second-placed teams will wrestle for the third place.
