On September 5, Georgian national basketball team holds qualifying Euro Basket 2013 against Bosnia the second time (in Sarajevo, Georgians beat Bosnians – 96:95) at Tbilisi Sports Palace. Before the match, Georgians held open training and answered journalists’ questions.
Zaza Pachulia (captain of Georgian national team):” unfortunately I have trauma, there is time before match but my participation in this match is under question mark. Bosnia is staffed with very good players, but we play team style basketball and as a result we beat them. These following three players are distinguished- Teletovic, Dedovic and naturalized player Zak Right. We are playing home match and we have to win this match”.
Tornike Shengelia (basketball player of Georgian national tam):” there is no weak team in our group. Tomorrow we are playing very strong team, but we have already beat them once and now we are playing home match. During these two days, we did our best and to my mind we have good chances”.
Giorgi Shermadini (basketball player Georgian national team):” We gained necessary victory in Romania. We prepared for the upcoming match very well. I hope that Zaza will help us and will beat Bosnia the second time”.
Nika Metreveli (basketball player of Georgian national team):” tomorrow very difficult and important match is ahead us. We are prepared well and we have to gain victory in any case”.
Kote Tugushi (assistant of chairman of Georgian national team):” we overcame very difficult matches. We have just returned from Romania, where we played without Zaza Pachulia, but we gained victory and we are very happy. Tomorrow very important match is ahead us, because in case of victory, we will compete at European championship. Unfortunately, today captain of the team Zaza Pachulia could not train at the training before match due to trauma. I hope that Zaza will feel better tomorrow morning and in the evening he will help us”.
Davit Ustiashvili (assistant of chairman of Georgian national team):” Bosnia is a strong team and we will have difficult math. But we will do our best to show strong resistance against opponent and gain victory”.
Mirza Teletovic, leader of Bosnian national team also made comment:” Very difficult and interesting match is ahead us, especially it is home match for Georgia. We started very badly in the previous match, then we mobilized but we could not gain victory. In my opinion then we were unlucky.
